Privacy
This page explains what this site collects, why, and what you can choose. It's short because the site doesn't do much.

Analytics, only if you say yes
I use Google Analytics to see which pages and links get used. It stays off until you click Agree on the cookie banner. Until then, and if you click Reject, your browser makes no analytics requests to Google and none of its cookies are set. If you agreed and then change your mind, Reject also removes the Analytics cookies it set.
If you agree, Google Analytics uses cookies to collect things like the pages you view, roughly where you are, and what kind of device and browser you use. I also record when you click a buy or read link on a work's page, including which store it was. Google's handling of that information is covered by Google's privacy policy. I don't sell it.
Your choice is remembered in your own browser, not on my server. You can change it any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
The contact form
If you write to me through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, subject, and message, along with your IP address and the time you sent it. I use them to read and answer your message and to spot spam. I don't add you to any mailing list and I don't share your message. Messages stay in my email archive with no fixed deletion date.
To keep spammers out, the site also briefly counts recent messages sent from each IP address. That count is held in memory, not saved, and clears itself.
Cookies the site sets itself
The software that runs this site sets a few small cookies (named CFID, CFTOKEN, and JSESSIONID). They let the contact form check that a message really came from the form and not from a robot. They aren't used to track you, and they don't leave this site.
My web host
This site is hosted by Hostek, which keeps ordinary server logs (such as your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser type) for security and troubleshooting. Email from the contact form passes through Hostek's mail server.
Links to other sites, and affiliate links
Pages for my work link to stores and other sites, such as Amazon, Bookshop.org, Marvel Unlimited, DC Universe Infinite, LinkedIn, and IMDb. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy practices apply, not these.
Some of those links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. I also earn a commission on purchases made through my Bookshop.org links. It costs you nothing extra, and it helps support this site and my work.
Questions
If you have a question about any of this, use the contact form and choose Other as the subject. If this page changes in a way that matters, I'll update the date at the top.
